Week 3: New Insights
For me, seminars are such boring things but after I have attended the “Publicity-Updates and Innovative Ways of Keeping up with the Evolving Marketing Practices” seminar hosted by the College of Business and Accountancy, I felt really good especially in learning new things.
The speaker, Miss Vanessa, did a great job on discussing about Corporate Image, Corporate Identity, Communication & Advertising Materials, PR Programs, Trade Fairs, etc. Even though she had a limited time, she injected so much knowledge in everyone’s mind.
What I found really cool was when she discussed about the Stealth Marketing or Undercover Marketing. I am not really that aware of such strategy that involves undercover missions of actors to promote products to people around. But I think its a little disrespectful in fooling people with hired actors.
Marketing strategies were also in the internet today. It is called Buzz or Viral Marketing which is spreading information about the product through the use of web pages especially social networking sites.
I also liked how the speaker relate the info to us. She said that we should not think of her as a professor teaching a lesson thus a student that are chatting with us. She created a lively and interactive atmosphere which I think is the best to produce a good seminar. She also showed a couple of interesting videos to break the ice.
It was a good seminar. Two thumbs up for the organizers and of course the speaker.
